The Pittsburgh Kid Rises to Challenge for World Title Once Again!

Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in association with Roy Jones Jr. Presents, Golden Boy Promotions & TNT Promotions present a special edition of “Live Championship Boxing” on Saturday November 30th, 2013 at The Harv.  In the 12 Round Main Event, Paul “The Pittsburgh Kid” Spadafora faces Johan “El Terrible” Perez of Caracas, Venezuela for the WBA Interim Super Lightweight World Title.

Spadafora (48W-0L-1D, 19KO), the former IBF World Champion, following an extended period of lows has astonishingly roared back over the past year with three victories over top contenders including capturing the NABF Title in his last bout jetting himself back to the top of the division & earning another crack at another World Title.  Currently carrying the best record of any active boxer in the sport, the fight also represents Spadafora’s attempt to tie the late great Rocky Marciano all-time win mark of wins without a defeat putting it all on the line in attempt to fulfill one of the most riveting comeback stories in professional boxing history.

Perez (17W-1L-1D, 12KO), the current highest WBA World rated contender & WBA International Champion & former WBA Interim World Champion, is coming off two consecutive televised victories on Showtime over Japan’s 22W-0L Yoshihiro Kamegai & former World Champion Steve Forbes. The power punching Venezuelan simply known as “El Terrible” is determined to have his hands raised in victory over Spadafora to claim gold & keep his name a top the world stage.  This historical event can be seen live worldwide on GFL.tv.

Super Middleweight prospect “Big Chief” Morgan Fitch takes a COLOSSAL step up in class when he faces a fighter above him the rankings in Darnell “DEEZOL” Boone, the only man on the planet to not only knockdown Boxing’s #2 Pound-for-Pound Fighter in the world today Andre Ward, but also KNOCKOUT current Ring Magazine & WBC World Champion & 2013 Fighter of the Year Candidate Adonis Stevenson as well as provide current Ring Magazine #2 & WBO World Champion Sergey Kovalev his stiffest test in a razor thin split decision.

Prospect Wilkins “The Hispanic Hurricane” Santiago also steps up to the plate to face current NABC & Indiana State Light Middleweight Champion Eric “The Juggernaught” Draper.  This intriguing battle follows the story line that both fighters have a common 2013 opponent in Mustafah Johnson whereas Santiago won a closely contested decision, but Draper turned the lights out in a sensational KO victory.

Northeast OH’s Puerto Rican contingent will be happy to know that in addition to Santiago, its newest favorite son Antonio “Carita” Nieves gets his first opportunity on the big stage.  The crowd pleasing Nieves is coming off of his first professional knockout victory in April at the Coliseo Manuel Iguina in Arecibo, Puerto Rico & looks to keep the momentum going vs. experienced veteran Markel Muhammad.
