Boxing Returns to the Chumash Casino

SANTA YNEZ, CA (December 2, 2013) – On Friday December 6, 2013 Gary Shaw Productions will present another addition of the boxing series titled “Central Coast Championship Night” at the Chumash Resort Casino in Santa Ynez, Calif.

In the 10-round main event, hometown hero Francisco Santana (17-3-1, 8 KOs) will put his “Central Coast Championship” on the line against Joachim Alcine (33-4-1, 19 KOs).  Santana, who is currently riding a 5-fight winning streak, feels confident he’ll prevail in front of his hometown fans.

“Alcine has a lot of experience and I’m not looking past him,” said Santana. “I know he’s coming to fight but I won’t be denied.  I’ve worked really hard during the past year and I believe I will come out on top come December 6th.  I want to thank Gary Shaw for keeping me busy and the Chumash Casino for hosting my fights.  The Chumash is my house and I’m going to give my hometown fans an exciting night of boxing,”

The co-main event will showcase Rustam Nugaev (25-6-1, 15 KOs) and Ira Terry (26-11, 16 KOs) in a 10-round lightweight bout.  Nugaev who’s rated No. 6 by the WBC will look to extend on his 4-fight knockout streak, three of which came in 2013.

“Every time I step into the ring I’m looking to knockout my opponent,” Nugaev said. “Against Terry it will be no different.  I want to end 2013 with a bang and knocking out Terry will complete my mission.  I know Gary Shaw is working hard to get me in position to fight for a title.  I feel I can beat anyone in my division.”

“The Chumash Casio is a great venue and their fans are always enthusiastic about the fights we bring to them,” said Gary Shaw. “This show will again be very crowd pleasing.”
