Reading, PA (November 14, 2017) – King’s Promotions is deeply saddened at the passing of Desmond Hammond. Hammond of Reading, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday morning at the age of 35.  He was at his home and surrounded by his family.  Hammond was the Director of Operations for King’s Promotions for the better part of the last three years. He was the nephew of King’s Promotions CEO Marshall Kauffman. “This is such a sad day for my family and for everyone who knew Desmond,” said Kauffman. “Desmond was like a son to me.  He is my sister’s son, and he is basically the same age as my children so we are extremely close.  Desmond came to boxing just a few years ago and he picked up the business so fast.  We have run more shows then anybody in the country, and they all have come Read more […]

The Fort Worth, Texas, super bantamweight express named Jesse Angel Hernandez continued to pick up momentum last Saturday night, as he took his second consecutive undefeated record away, this time from Baltimore’s Glenn Dezurn. Fighting on the Danny Jacobs vs. Luis Arias and Jarrell Miller vs. Mariusz Wach undercard at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, Hernandez (now 10-1, 7 KOs) used his height and reach advantages to maximum effect while scoring an eight-round unanimous decision over Dezurn (now 9-1-1, 6 KOs). Former French Super Middleweight Champion Bilel Latreche and former Finnish Cruiserweight titlist Janne Forsman are set to meet in the middle, and fight for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Light Heavyweight title on Saturday November 18 at La Commanderie in Dole, France. Latreche, 22-5-1 (4), lost his pro début in 2007, but has since done well for himself by winning several regional titles, including the French national crown in 2013. Lightweights Juk San Lee and Rusmin Kie Raha didn’t hold anything back when they squared off for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific Lightweight title on Sunday, November 5, in the main event of a stacked show in Osaka, Japan. Lee, who´s birth-name is Ryo Akahori, is residing and fighting out of South Korea but was born in Osaka, had the crowd on his side.
