Little Creek Brawl IV Featured on ESPN2 Friday Night Fights! by Sue TL Fox

(JAN 27) On Friday night at the Little Creek Casino Resort, in Shelton, Washington, on the "Little Creek Brawl IV" featured on ESPN2 Friday Night fights and promoted by Goossen Tutor Promotions, in front of a full house of boxing fans (and Seahawk Fans), presented ten exciting men's professional bouts on the card.  In the main event, Thomas "Top Dogg" Williams, 174,  now 16-0 (11KO), had what was called the best one round on a card when he and Cornelius "Da Beast" White, 174, 21-3 (16KO), fought in a knockdown drag out first round ending with Williams TKO'ing White at 2:49 seconds of the first round.  As soon as the bell rang, these two came out fast and hard, with the first knockdown coming when Williams threw a quick combo, landing White to the canvas.  Shortly there after White returned Read more [...]

Boxing Action at the “Battle at the Boat” in Tacoma by Sue TL Fox

(AUG 20) On Saturday night at the "Battle at the Boat" boxing event, promoted by Halquist Productions, there was plenty of action in the six men's bouts featured on the card.  In the first bout of the evening, they featured a couple of pro debuters opening the night.  Frank Mendez, of Longview, Washington, took on Andres Ramos in a four-rounder at 132 lbs.  Even though this was the first time these two newcomers came in as pros, they wasted little time in making the bout a non-stop action bout.  In the second round, Mendez received an eight-count by the ref, and in the third, Ramos the fight when Mendez in trouble by Ramos' relentless attack, and the fight was stopped at 1:23 by TKO. Staying active name of the game for prospect Danny O’Connor

No sooner had the dust cleared from last Sunday night's fight, light welterweight prospect Danny O'Connor (18-1, 6 KOs) was back in the gym preparing for his next action, September 29, on the non-televised segment of a HBO BAD tripleheader at MGM Grand Theater at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, Connecticut.  The 27-year-old O'Connor, a former two-time national amateur champion and 2008 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team alternate, stopped Eddie "The Puerto Rican Sensation" Soto (12-5, 4 KOs) this past Sunday evening in the fourth round of their fight, headlining the first professional boxing show in Gillette Stadium history. Dawson Wins Second Time Around Against Hopkins; Witherspoon Stopped in the Third by Mitchell!

(APR 29, 2012) Last night at the Boardwalk Hall, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and telecast on HBO, "Bad" Chad Dawson, 29, won a 12-round unanimous decision over Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins, now 47 years old.  Dawson was able to successfully dethrone Hopkins for the Ring and WBC Light heavyweight title, that could have happened in October of 2011, at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California, but in their first fight in October, Hopkins got injured early in that bout.  Dawson was initially declared the winner the night of the fight, which HBN being present at that fight saw the reaction of the crowd who were in shock.  Ultimately their first fight was declared a technical draw after the WBC reviewed the bout. .
