SAN JOSE, CA, October 17 — Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment (SVS&E) and Goossen Tutor Promotions announced today that former WBO Light Heavyweight World Champion Julio Gonzalez (38-3, 23 KO’s) will return to action Thursday, November 17 when he takes on Australian Jason Delisle (18-3-2, 9 KO’s) in the main event at Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank. In addition, SVS&E and Goossen Tutor Promotions announced a new partnership to work together to enhance the Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank boxing series. As part of the deal, Goossen Tutor will now oversee all aspects of matchmaking for the professional boxing series which will now be a co-promotion between SVS&E and Goossen Tutor Promotions. The Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank series is currently in its fourth season. The partnership between SVS&E and Goossen Tutor Promotions kicks off with the title elimination bout between the two world contenders.

“We are excited to be working with Goossen Tutor Promotions, an organization synonymous with boxing excellence,” said Steve Kirsner, Director of Event Booking at HP Pavilion. “Fans and season ticket holders of the Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank series have come to expect and deserve a boxing series that delivers exciting bouts with hard-hitting action. We look forward to utilizing the expertise of Goossen Tutor Promotions to take this series to that next level.”

This will not mark the first time Goossen Tutor Promotions and SVS&E have worked together. In August, 2005 the two teams came together to bring Bay Area boxing fans “The Best Damn Night of Olympians,” an action-packed card televised nationally on Fox Sports Net’s “Best Damn Sports Show Period.” Featured on the card was Bay Area resident and 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Andre Ward and 2000 Olympic Gold Medalist Audley Harrison.

“We’ve had our eyes on this series for quite some time and always believed that with the formation of this partnership, that the fighters and the fans would be the beneficiaries,” said Dan Goossen, President of Goossen Tutor Promotions. “Come November 17, fans will be treated to a main event that has the future of two fighters on the line – the winner fights for the IBF light heavyweight world championship. That’s what boxing is all about – big fights.”

Miller Lite Fight Night at the Tank is the premiere boxing series in the Bay Area. The series debuted in March, 2002. Since that time, more than 71,000 fans have attended the series at HP Pavilion.
