Cordova-Moore in “Expressway Jam 2” co-feature Nov. 19 at Freeport Hall

WOBURN, Mass. (NOV 4) – Former World Junior Olympic champion Marvin “Too Much” Cordova, Jr. (5-0, 4 KOs) steps up in class November 19 when he fights junior welterweight Shakha Moore (9-10-3, 1 KO) in the six-round co-feature on Expressway Jam 2, presented by NER Promotions, November 19 at Freeport Hall (IBEW) in Dorchester (MA).

Cordova, fighting out of Colorado Springs, had a 186-12 record as an amateur and he captured 14 National titles. His last fight was a second-round TKO of Marlon Leslie this past August in Denver. He is co-trained by his father, Marvin, Sr., and renowned cornerman Rafael Garcia.
Moore is a well tested southpaw from Norwalk, Connecticut, who has fought the likes of Demetrius Hopkins, Frank Houghtaling and Jeff Fraza.

A neighborhood grudge match between Worcester cruiserweights Roy “House of” Payne (19-12-4, 6 KOs) and John “House of Rain” Rainwater (10-11-3, 3 KOs) headlines Expressway Jam 2. Their eight-round match for the vacant Massachusetts State Cruiserweight Championship is the main event.

Slated to fight in a six-round Special Attraction is Brooklyn super bantamweight Roberto Benitez (2-0, 1 KO), a member of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Boxing Team, against TBA.

In four round bouts, undefeated Irish heavyweight James Clancy (4-0, 1 KO), from Dorchester via Clare (IRE), faces Anthony Ottah (1-4-1), of New York City, while Lowell light heavyweight Joey McCreedy (1-0, 1 KO) squares off against Goody Petronelli-trained Huston Crayton (0-2), of Brockton. Lowell junior welterweight Sean Eklund (0-2) – trained by his uncle “Irish” Micky Ward — is matched against Carlos Felipe Reyes (0-4), from North Carolina. South Boston
middleweight Matt Ryan was slated to make his pro debut, but he suffered two cracked ribs during training. All fighters and bouts are subject to change.
