Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante is getting his first shot at 115lb gold when he fights for the vacant IBA Super Flyweight Championship against Michael Ruiz!

SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA- Bruno “The Aloha Kid” Escalante is getting his first shot at 115-pound gold when he fights for the vacant IBA Super Flyweight Championship against Michael Ruiz (9-3, 3 KOs) of Fresno California.

The ten round bout will take place on December 7th at the Sports House in Redwood City California.   Escalante (10-1-1, 5KOs) has garnered attention over the past year from boxing insiders who have been impressed with his agile footwork, quick hand speed, and his deceptive power.

The Cebu, Philippine born fighter has grown into his capabilities and has secured his position within the ranks. After growing up in the Philippines during his early years, Escalante moved to Hawaii before making a home out of California. He’s preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime, knowing full-well that capturing a title in the super-flyweight division could put him on the fast track to the top of the division.

Escalante is merely 25, but he has a matured sense of knowledge in and out of the ring.  “Most look at youth as a disadvantage in terms of experience, but I’ve gained the most out of every learning situation I’ve been through and I see that as a direct advantage.

I have the freshness of a young fighter with the capabilities of a seasoned-veteran, that is a dangerous combination. I will be dedicating this fight to my people back home who are suffering with the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. My prayers go out to everyone dealing with this terrible natural disaster.” Escalante said.

This bout is being promoted by Don Chargin Productions & Paco Presents. Tickets priced $40, $55 and $100 are on sale now and can be purchased online at pacopresentsboxing.com, Tix.com, or by calling the Sports House at (650) 362-4100.
