LOS MOCHIS, Sinaloa, Mexico (June 11, 2021) – Fighting at home, Manuel “Meno” Gallegos (18-1, 15 KOs) captured the vacant NBA Americas Super Middleweight Championship last night in the main event on another installment of RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS, presented by RJJ Boxing Promotions and De La O Promotions, at Benito Juarez Auditorium, Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico.
RJJ Boxing was streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. To sign up for UFC FIGHT PASS, please visit www.ufcfightpass.com.
Gallegos won a unanimous 10-round decision over Roy Jones, Jr.-trained Kevin “The Second Coming” Newman (11-3-1, 6 KOs), fighting out of Las Vegas. Newman had two points deducted.
In the co-featured event, Pablo “Diamente” Robles (15-2, 19 KOs) upset previously unbeaten WBO Latino featherweight champion Alan “Cachorro” Solis (13-1-1, 7 KJOs), rated No. 12 by the WBO, in a battle of Mexican featherweights. Robles dropped and stopped Solis in the third round of their non-title fight.
In a Special Lightweight Attraction, WBC Youth Silver Lightweight Champion Luis “Koreano” Torres (12-0, 8 KOs) remained undefeated, taking a one-sided 10-round unanimous decision from veteran Diego “Pato” Eligio (20-6-1, 8 KOs) in a non-title match. Torres set the pace early, pressuring former WBC FECOMBOX titlist Eligio from the start, and landing the more impactful punches throughout the fight.
Mexican lightweight Nazario Castro (6-2, 3 KOs) handed Ricardo “El Rojas” Bracamontes (6-1, 3 KOs) his first los as a professional by way of a 6-round unanimous decision, opening the UFC FIGHT PASS live stream.
Lightweight Jose Alberto “Jortito” Lugo Cota (4-0, 3 KOs), 19, blasted out Mario “Belocka” Duran (3-3, 2 KOs) in the opening round, while Florida middleweight Andrew Murphy (3-0, 2 KOs) pounded the body of Luis Jesus Alcarez (2-5), knocking down his opponent that closed the show midway through round one.
