December 21, 2012 - Maryland's undefeated light-middleweight prospect, Alantez "Sly as A" Fox (8-0-1, 4 KOs), makes a quick return to the ring when he faces in-state rival Julius Kennedy (7-2-1, 3 KOs) on January 12, 2013. SARTONK Announces the Recipients of the Annual Ali-King Award

Alongside a prominent class of twelve Hall of Fame Inductees, three youth were recognized at the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame Banquet on 8 November, 2012. Joseph Rinaldi, Chance Solem-Pfeifer, and Nafisa Umarova were the recipients of SARTONK’s inaugural Ali-King Award. Their essay submissions were selected as the top three by a panel of five judges. Named after Martin Luther King, Jr. and Muhammad Ali, the contest’s aim was to inspire critical thinking about the history and social significance of boxing. “We chose these men for their tireless struggle and fight for the cause of common good. History of Womens Boxing

   "Chronological events that occurred in women's boxing.."       While women's boxing can loosely trace it beginnings to London in the 1720's, throughout the ensuing decades, there were various exhibitions and scattered bouts until the 1950's when several fighters, most notably Barbara Buttrick, JoAnn Hagen (Verhaegen), and Phyllis Kugler staged professional fights. The sport rekindled again in the 1970s thanks to the efforts of several important trailblazers. HBO After Dark: Abregu Wins Big against Dulorme

Gary Shaw Productions in association with Greg Cohen Promotions, DiBella Entertainment, Thompson Boxing Promotions, Universal Promotions, Prize Fight, Joe Deguardia's Star Boxing, and Zanfer Promotions presented an amazing night of boxing at the Turning Stone Casino. Boxing Action at the “Battle at the Boat” in Tacoma by Sue TL Fox

(AUG 20) On Saturday night at the "Battle at the Boat" boxing event, promoted by Halquist Productions, there was plenty of action in the six men's bouts featured on the card.  In the first bout of the evening, they featured a couple of pro debuters opening the night.  Frank Mendez, of Longview, Washington, took on Andres Ramos in a four-rounder at 132 lbs.  Even though this was the first time these two newcomers came in as pros, they wasted little time in making the bout a non-stop action bout.  In the second round, Mendez received an eight-count by the ref, and in the third, Ramos the fight when Mendez in trouble by Ramos' relentless attack, and the fight was stopped at 1:23 by TKO. Serrano believes the second time is a charm!

Tacoma, WA (August 10, 2012) – On June 2, welterweights Nate Serrano and Osvaldo Rojas engaged in one of the most exciting bouts in “Battle at the Boat” history. Serrano, a retired marine who has a gargantuan fan base at the Emerald Queen Casino and Rojas, a rugged Oregonian, slugged it out throughout their unforgettable six round contest.
