Unbeaten Delossantos faces toughest test Friday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (May 7th, 2018) -- As a teenager, Ricky Delossantos and his friends used to ride around the city with a few pairs of boxing gloves in the trunk, not because Delossantos was a budding amateur star, but because every so often they'd find themselves in the middle of a heated debate that needed to be settled the old-fashioned way. Photo courtesy of Will Paul - CES Press Release "We'd be in the car arguing and I'd say, 'We've got the gloves in the trunk!' so we'd go outside, stop in a parking lot and throw hands," Delossantos said. "Anybody that knows me knows I've been fighting since I was little." While it should come as no surprise that the 28-year-old Pawtucket, R.I., native is one of New England's rising prospects in the featherweight division, boasting a perfect 4-0 Read more [...]

WBF Championship Victories For Ali Yammouni & William Zepeda

On Friday night, April 27, in French port-city Calais, Ali Yammouni excited his home-town fans with a thrilling victory over Georgian late substitute Jaba Shalutashvili to win the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Middleweight title.  It could only be described as an all-out brawl between two boxers with little defense, as they took turns wobbling each-other in almost every round. With very few jabs or faints, it was power-punches galore from start to finish. Yammouni, who got the better of most exchanges, floored Shalutashvili in the second round with a short right uppercut, but the Georgian beat the count of referee Mohamed Hireche and gamely fought back. It was the only knock-down of the fight, and it went all ten rounds and to the scorecards. Judges Christophe Hembert Read more [...]
