Undefeated Mexican puncher Christopher Degollado will undoubtedly face his stiffest challenge on November 22, when he takes on fellow prospect and compatriot Ivan Pereyra for the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental Super Welterweight title in his hometown of Monterrey. Eleven years and 36 fights into his professional career, Frenchman Michel Mothmora was very much the epitome of a journeyman in November 2011. His record stood at a less than stellar 15-21, and there were no real signs that anything was going to change what appeared to be his destiny in boxing. At the third day of 51st WBC Convention in Bangkok, Thailand, the WBC announced that WBC Cruiserweight Champion Krzysztof "Diablo" Wlodarczyk's dramatic come-from-behind victory over Rakhim Chakhkiev, last June at the Dynamo Palace of Sports in Krylatskoye, Moscow, Russia, has been nominated for Fight of the Year" and "Dramatic Fight of the Year". Sampson Lewkowicz, promoter of hospitalized Russian heavyweight Magomed "Mago" Abdusalamov, along with promoters Leon Margules and Lou DiBella, and with help and support of others in the industry, are establishing a fund and to donate and raise funds to help alleviate the financial burden the unfortunate brain injury Abdusalamov suffered Saturday night has placed on him and his family. 32-year-old Abdusalamov had to have emergency surgery to remove a blood clot, and part of his skull had to be removed to reduce swelling, following his brutal 10-round war against Mike Perez at The Theater at Madison Square Garden, on Saturday, November 2.
