Rodney Toney’s comeback begins June 3″ Expressway Jam” in Dorchester

BOSTON (May 25, 2005) - Boston-native Rodney Toney has returned to his roots for a proverbial crossroads fight June 3 against Jameel "Black Gold" Wilson, headlining "Expressway Jam," presented by NER Promotions, at Freeport Hall (IBEW) in Dorchester (MA). Former California State light heavyweight champion Toney (26-4-4, 16 KOs), cousin of the much more famous James Toney, has been idle for the past 21/2 years. BOSTON (April 27, 2005) – First-year boxing promoter NER Promotions has strengthened its growing stable of fighters by signing four veteran South American boxers – WBO No. 5 rated welterweight Newton Villareal (23-3, 19 KOs), super flyweight Ilido Julio (32-6-1, 29 KOs), Ecuadorian Olympian junior middleweight Luis Hernandez (12-2, 6 KOs) and lightweight Jefferson Rodriguez (19-6, 18 KOs).
