Hungarians Clash For WBF Titles In Germany March 22
February 20, 2014

Hungarian Southpaw-puncher Sandor Micsko will fight compatriot and fellow Budapest resident Zoltan Sera for the vacant WBF International Super Welterweight title on March 22 at the Sportpalast in Bielefeld, Germany.  Micsko, 22-4-2 (16), is a former Hungarian Champion at Middleweight and Super Middleweight, as well as a former WBF International Champion at Middleweight, and believes that Super Welterweight is his best weight and the division where he at twenty-seven years of age will make his biggest statements. In Zoltan Sera, 13-1 (9), he will face the reigning Hungarian Middleweight title-holder, who is also coming down in weight for the opportunity to win the WBF title. The only defeat on the record of Sera (28) was in a European title fight against the undefeated Joe Selkirk last December, and he has since rebounded with a stoppage victory this past January. On the same show, former two-time WBF world title-challenger Renata Domsodi (35) will also face a fellow Hungarian, when she squares off with undefeated Alexandra Vlajk (34) for the vacant WBF Womens International Bantamweight crown. 11-4 (5) Domsodi, who twice valiantly challenged Ramona Kuehne for the Super Featherweight world championship, is hoping to pave the way towards a shot at world glory at the lower weight, but should be in with a tough challenge from Vlajk, 5-0 (1). The World Boxing Federation Championship doubleheader in Bielefeld, Germany on March 22, supported by a full undercard, will be promoted by Profibox-Promotion.

Mario Barrios Marches with Victory
February 11, 2014

SAN ANTONIO (February 11, 2015) – Last night San Antonio’s undefeated super bantamweight standout, Mario Barrios (2-0, 1 KO), marched forward with an impressive 4-round unanimous decision victory against Manuel Rubalcava (1-7) at the Cowboys Dance Hall, San Antonio, Texas. The 18-year old phenom, dropped his opponent twice before the bout ended.  “This was a good fight for me as I got the rounds needed to improve on my craft,” said Barrios. “After I put him down twice he started to move around the ring and the fight went the distance which is good because I know I’m not always going to knock out my opponent. Rubalcava showed a lot of heart while surviving and I’m happy I got the victory. I’m ready to get back in the ring.” Barrios looks to return to the ring on March 7th at the Pala Casino Spa and Resort in Pala, California.

Ruiz Injured; Melson to face Ward February 12!
February 9, 2014

NEW YORK – Tough Tennessean Donald “Bulldog” Ward will replace the injured Mike Ruiz as the opponent for Captain Boyd “Rainmaker” Melson Wednesday, February 12 in New York City.  The Melson-Ruiz 154 pound showdown was heavily hyped in the Big Apple, with both men known for their warrior mentality and large fan bases, but a hand injury forced Ruiz out of the bout. Eight years Melson’s junior, Ward’s professional record is 6-3 with 3 wins by knockout. He’s faced three highly-regarded unbeaten fighters and on September 7 2013, the Memphis native shocked once-beaten hometown favorite William Jackson over six rounds.  “I was really looking forward to facing Ruiz,” said Melson, who is 13-1-1 with 4 knockouts and is one of the most popular fighters in New York. “It’s always tough to switch opponents on short notice, especially when he’s tough as Ward is. His record serves him no justice and he gave Patrick Day a very good fight. I was also amateur teammates with William Jackson, so I know what he’s capable of. Regardless of who I’m fighting, I’ve got a job to do and nothing changes whether it’s Ruiz, Ward or whoever!” Melson-Ward serves as the eight round main event of the final fight card at the famed Roseland Ballroom, which is closing shortly thereafter.

Molina Takes a break from Training to hang with Tyson
February 8, 2014

IBF Junior Middleweight Champion “King” Carlos Molina (22-5-2, 6 KO’s) took a break from training on Feb. 6th to hang out with all-time-great “Iron” Mike Tyson in Chicago.  Molina, 30, is deep in preparations for his upcoming fight, his first title defense against unbeaten, but unproven, Jermall Charlo (17-0, 13 KO’s) on the Showtime PPV undercard of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Alfredo Angulo on March 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.  “We always have a good game plan going in and we’ll have one this time,” said Molina. “We have to train to beat him a number of different ways because you never know what will happen on fight night.”  Molina says he’s not taking 23-year-old Charlo, rated #5 IBF, #5 WBO, #13 WBC, lightly, despite his being unproven against top-flight opposition.  “It’s hard to tell what he’ll bring,” said Molina. “But he’s undefeated, so you have to take him seriously. I’ll be ready for anything.”  Molina is sparring, once again, with undefeated cruiserweight contender Dimar Ortuz, among others.  “Dimar gives me a lot of movement and fights me on the inside and the outside. And he’s very strong, so no matter who I fight on fight night, they’re never as strong as he is.”
