Nino Benvenuti Returns “Home” For WBF Convention In Slovenia

Middleweight great and Hall-Of-Famer Nino Benvenuti (82-7-1, 35 Kos) has confirmed his attendance as a special guest at the 2016 World Boxing Federation (WBF) convention to be held in Maribor, Slovenia between September 22 and September 25 at the luxurious Hotel Habakuk. Besides former WBF and IBF world champion Jan Zaveck, Benvenuti (78) is the only boxer born in what is today known as Slovenia to become a professional world champion, and he did so no less than three times between 1965 and 1968, losing his WBC and WBA titles in his third reign to Carlos Monzon in 1970. Team Sauerland win purse bid for Ceylan-Walsh

Team Sauerland today won the purse bid to stage the European Featherweight title fight between Dennis Ceylan (17-0-1, 8 KOs) and Ryan Walsh (21-1-1, 10 KOs).  With a bid of €60,305, Team Sauerland saw off competition from Double A Promotion, who bid €60,000. WBO European Super Featherweight champion Evgeny Chuprakov defends title with 5th round stoppage

WBF Titles Conquered In Germany, Philippines & Uganda

Germany, Philippines and Uganda set the scene for World Boxing Federation (WBF) championship bouts on Saturday, April 30, as thousands of boxing fans witnessed the crowning of two new Intercontinental champions and two new International titlist.  In Germany, at the Tangerhuette Kulturhaus, Samir Nebo stopped Andrei Mazanik from Belorussia to win the vacant WBF Intercontinental Heavyweight title.
