COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. (JULY 1, 2016) - Only one opportunity remains for Team USA's remaining unqualified male boxers to clinch their spots in the 2016 Olympic Games. The four American boxers competing in the WSB/APB Olympic Qualification Event July 3-8 in Vargas, Venezuela will be welterweight Paul Kroll (Philadelphia, Pa.), light heavyweight Jonathan Esquivel (Anaheim, Calif.), heavyweight Cam F. Awesome (Lenexa, Kansas) and super heavyweight Brandon Lynch (Albany, N.Y.). Jack Obermayer boxing super-scribe passed away

I am sad to report that passing of boxing super-scribe Jack Obermayer, who passed away this morning at his home in Lindenwold, New Jersey at the age of 72.   Obermayer, who covered 3514 professional fight cards in 49 states in over 400 cities and was affectionately known as "KO-JO" was a beloved figure at ringside for 50 years. Obermayer wrote for many publications such Flash Gordon's "Tonight's Boxing Program", Ring Magazine, Boxing Illustrated (Which later became Boxing Digest) & USA Boxing News. Obermayer penned the popular column "KO JO Says", which chronicled his many road trips to fights an and his love of classic diners. Taylor Mabika Lifts WBF International Cruiserweight Title

Gabon-born Taylor Mabika is the new World Boxing Federation (WBF) International Cruiserweight Champion, after he won the vacant title on Friday night, June 17, in Differdange, Luxembourg by seeing off former world title-challenger Lars Buchholz from Germany.  A fired-up Mabika seemed intend to impress and took the initiative early, winning the first three rounds of what was shaping up to be a one-sided fight, before referee Vincent Dupas stepped in and called it off just before the end of round four. Beroshvili Stuns Kovacs To Win WBF Eurasia Title
